Does rapamycin only work when you are taking it?

Do the benefits of taking rapamycin vanish when you stop taking it? How long do you need to take it to have long standing effects? Thank you.

there is a mice study:

mice were fed 3 months rapamycin, so that would roughly translate to what 8-9 years in human life?
but there is no human studies and we are just laboratory human mices, trying to guess what would, could, is helpful…

If what it does (that really matters) is to improve mitochondrial efficiency then the effect will last until the mitochondria deteriorate.

My personal view is that Rapamycin is one of a number of tools for maximising mitochondrial efficiency and is something that probably should be taken for a long period of time (like until death) even if infrequently.
