Disturbing news regarding Medications Ordering from India, Price Increases, Parcels Stopped

Not an import issue but the FDA has been saber rattling to take the prescriiption desicated thyroid products off the market, NP thyroid, Armor, for lack of the required FDA testing, docs, etc that these pre FDA products don’t have. You may have heard and discussed here (??) about 6 mo ago another FDA statement of removing these products from the market. Then RFK said the FDA would do the back-Docing itself to keep these products in the market… TBD.

Mean time my NP thyroid prescription goes un-filled for lack of inventory in the wholesale / warehouse market. A synthetic shortage. Its just ground up pig thryoid!!!

I’ve been buying ahead over the years and my Functional guy and I have a plan to get me another 6 mo worth once this prescription gets filled…

If you are on NPp-thyroid you might add this drug to your stock piling strategy too. Sad. Seems like Mad-Max, Hunger Games, fight to the death, mixed together. As “he” said in 2020, You Are On Your Own, ;truely.

Very sad! Instead of sharing, learning we are turned into horders.

I got an email a while back from the Canadian pharmacy I use about the end of the de minimis exemption. They suggested I buy before it becomes effective. I also heard from an Indian pharmacy that they are using a third country to ship things to us.

I live close enough to the border that I can see the Mexican flag over their station. I can walk over and buy meds. However, there are now two problems.

  1. Officially, we should have a prescription. They never cared about that before but who knows what happens now?

  2. There are some non registered medications I like and we may not be able to import non FDA registered medication anymore. I am going to ask one of the Border Patrol people what has changed when I see them at the grocery store.

I’ve heard about the issues with NDT thyroid medication and think the people responsible should be arrested for depriving patients from getting their hands on it, but they have all the power and that’s the world we live in, unfortunately.

In the meantime, people just have to take T4 and T3 separately and hope for the same results.

FWIW; desiccated contains T1, T2, plus the expected T3, T4… Synthetic will not be a complete replacement plus the inconvenience of multi doses of T3/day. Its ridiculous.

If this doesn’t make you mad, the women here should speak up about the even worse situation with female testosterone HRT!! Its worse. Not a product shortage but a prescriber shortage. Forces women to go to on-line sources like henrymeds.com and over $100/mo just for plain old and miniscule doses testosterone… Archaic.

Male or female doses of testosterone can be bought no prescription from the weight lifter sites. PM me if you want the referral. To keep their contact off searchable internet. IMHO female testosterone needs to be dosed >= 50 ng/ml and male >= 800. JMO. Most peri/post female numbers I’ve seen are under 25, way too low for optimal health, metabolic function yet few even after I give the pitch actually do anything. Sad how hormone HRT for both sexes is under treated.

My wife got prescribed 0.1 ml/week of a 50mg/ml testosterone propionate solution (so 5mg per week). Could you check what your recommended numbers are in terms of actual mg/week ? 50ng/ml is 1000 times less than the mix my wife got.

50ng/dl (typo on units) is the blood test value goal for females (in my view). My 62yo sisters blood test showed free testosterone at 9 ng/dl. Which is typical for post m females. My wife on TRT /BHRT has seen between 35-60 ng/dl on TRT, sub lingual.

Yes re 5mg/week testosterone propionate injected is a decent starting dose. Dose, blood test, change dose…

Injected testosterone for both men/women IMHO has lowest side effects and most effective. I’ve heard from my wife that topical T has caused facial acne, taking DHT suppression suppliments has helped but sublinqual + DHT suppression works for her. She has not tried injected T, as I do without side effects. I’m at around 50mg T (0.5mg of 100mg/ml cypionate).

I started injectable about 6 weeks ago and what I have settled on for dosage is in line with the video. It seems like the missing piece in my MHT.

You seem to know more about thyroid medications than I do, so I imagine you already know this, but fyi, t3 is available in extended release form so you don’t have to take it multiple times per day.

My recent order of Rapa was returned to sender by CBSA, at least it wasn’t seized.

The vendor is being helpful and indicates they are still having success shipping to Canada and will reship my parcel. They usually wait until they receive it back but are considering sending a new shipment as I’ve been a good customer and we have the proof of the return.

It will be interesting to see why it was returned, my guess is marginal paperwork related to value of the parcel, not the contents. The gov. wants all their cheese

This is not going to be good for drug imports I suspect:

Trump says U.S. will impose new tariffs on heavy trucks, drugs and kitchen cabinets

President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a new round of punishing tariffs, saying the United States will impose a 100% tariff on imported branded drugs, 25% tariff on imports of all heavy-duty trucks and 50% tariffs on kitchen cabinets.

Well, this doesn’t seem good. Is this checkmate or is there some way through this?

Which vendor is it? Do they also report only a 50% success rate shipping to canada?

Wow, what a nightmare. It seems no real way to do this legally for anyone here, too many hoops to jump through. In an earlier post you said that Jagdish claimed they’ve shipped successfully to the US through DHL. Based on your last post, I don’t see how that is possible. I think it’s back to the drawing board on this one.

Yeah, I think I’m toast. Anybody know if customs will return it to sender? At least that way maybe Jagdish would refund the non-shipping portion of my costs.

They don’t give out their success rate on shipments

www.rapashop.net

Well, I have only had experience with USPS sending back a package for “incomplete address” (which was not true!), and the tracking showing the package making it to India, but Jagdish said he never actually received it. Eventually he sent the order again free of charge (I paid only the $35 shipping), so that was cool, but then again, I’ve bought from him thousands of $ worth orders, so I’m a pretty good customer, lol. YMMV.

@Vulcan, If you’d be so kind please share what you learn about crossing the Mexican/US border with medication. We are planning a trip to El Paso in November and planned to go to Mexico for a day while there and visit a farmacia.

Haizel, an Indian supplier, says that he has an export license, and that it allows him to slip through all the new restrictions. Would you trust him? Don’t all suppliers have an export license?

I’ve got a DHL shipment set for delivery in a few days. DHL has texted just saying signiture required, nothing else, just delivery date. Previously (several years ago during Covid) I had my first (and only) DHL delivery stopped with paper prescription demands up-front before delivery, so I “abandoned it”. Looks like this one will go through. Its just a hair tonic/cream, not a med per se.

Yeah, likely not relevant for those of us who are looking to import meds😢.
