Details on the Dog Aging Project and Rapamycin Trial - Kaeberlein Interview

Here’s the latest update on the Dog Aging Project.

Thanks Richard for your excellent videos.

Any results for the dog longevity study?

The study was on track to release results on the rapamycin part of the study in dogs in 2026, but that was before the funding was cut by the NIH this year (a terrible decision). Now everything is up in the air from what I can tell. They are looking for more funding and donors. Hopefully they are successful and are able to finish the study.

The first article mentions they have already released data. Is the study an open data source? Do you know if anyone has tried to access the data?

There are a number sections to the Dog Aging study; the study of aging in dogs (I think they have something like 40,000 dogs + in the part of the study that just looks at characterizing aging in dogs). The rapamycin part is called TRIAD (test of rapamycin in aging dogs) with about 700 dogs taking rapamycin. Its this TRIAD part that most of us are interested in and that was scheduled for 2026 release, but which is now up in the air.
