The Oxford Society of Ageing and Longevity is pleased to invite you to an exciting virtual event featuring Dr. Matt Kaeberlein, a leading researcher in the field of aging. As a Professor at the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine and the Chief Science Officer at Optispan Ventures, Dr. Kaeberlein is dedicated to studying and understanding biological aging and how we can enhance our health as we age.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 25th at 7:30 pm UK time, as we embark on an exciting journey to the frontier of aging research. Dr. Kaeberlein’s groundbreaking work provides a fresh perspective on how we view aging, shifting the focus from lifespan to healthspan - the period of life spent in good health.
The talk will focus on his flagship Dog Aging project, where Kaeberlein is seeking to unlock the secrets of longer, healthier lives for our canine companions. In doing so, him and his team are fielding opportunities to translate outcomes to humans – adding a new definition to ‘mans best friend’.
Dr. Kaeberlein is co-founder and director of the pioneering Dog Aging Project. His unique approach of studying our canine companions brings a whole new dimension to the field. This project illuminates the common biological threads of aging across species, and importantly, identifies interventions that could promote healthspan in both dogs and humans!
Dr. Kaeberlein’s research covers a wide range of topics, from the effects of caloric and protein restriction to the potential health benefits of substances like rapamycin. His work helps us understand the complex interactions between genetics and the environment in the aging process.
We invite you to pre-submit your questions for Dr. Kaeberlein by emailing ageingandlongevity@gmail.com. There will also be a live Q&A session that will provide you with the opportunity to further engage with him during the event.
Join us in this exciting session as we explore the future of healthspan, aging, and longevity.
Don’t miss this opportunity - register today to secure your spot!
