I’ll ask for updates.
Crsociety.org has always been less “overwhelmed” than rapamycin.news/latest, you don’t get these massive 300+ comment threads, so easier to organize content there. I’ve had to switch to posting here, but miss some of my content (esp the content about microplastics, which have become more relevant again)
How does one provide proof of ownership documents?
We may have to bypass GoDaddy and go straight for Invisionboard (which seems to be more cooperative)

Interests, topics as well as people mature and tend to fizzle out. Maybe it played out its evolution to extinction. I was involved with it many years ago about when Wolford’s book came out. Met some good folks in the Bay Area (SF) at local meet up back then started by a fellow named Warren (can’t remember last name). Followed the approach for about three years, now, I’m here.
There’s LivingTheCRWay too, but it doesn’t have much activity
Yes, I remember Paul and Meredith from long ago. I actually bought some powdered longevity product from them which they were using before it was produced commercially. Paul was involved in setting up software, I believe, for Life Extension as a start up. Gosh, can’t remember what it was I got from them.
If we go for a decade or two there will be a ton of people doing rapa that have died
It’s like saying that because Blagosklonny got cancer people on rapa for a long time get cancer
The totally of data for CRON and mild CRON in health and longevity is arguable at least as good as it is for rapa.
See eg the human clinical trial that Yale and the NIH finished just a few years ago and from which there are a handful papers in top journals on
I knows meds are easy and even mild CRON is more of a hassle, but let’s not be biased as to what the totally of data suggests
(If you want anecdotes - a lot of Michael Lustgarten and Bryan Johnson’s successes have by themselves been attributed to their non-extreme CR)
“Not” or “now”? Not sure I understood your post
archive.org has a few threads archived (but far from complete) - there are only 18 captures of chit-chat, the latest which dates to February: https://web.archive.org/web/20240206030701/https://www.crsociety.org/forum/9-chitchat/
if you go to 3rd page, only 3 of Chitchat - Page 3 - CR Society Forum
Only a single backup copy of General Health and Longevity - Page 2 - CR Society Forum … [page 2]
invisionforum gives admins the ability to back up forums easily/for cheap. If only someone could get access to the admin panel…
[and if not that, https://www.youtube.com/@JohnWatsonRooney has some tutorials on web scraping. I’ve used httrack before, and this is the forum that httrack wouldn’t work so badly on, if only had I known this forum was at risk, and I had a premonition it was, but I didn’t know it would end up like this]
It’s really tragic that almost no one cared as much as I cared.
AlexKChen, I assume you’re aware of the group CRSociety on Facebook? This is the link:
In addition, is Kenton shown below a founding member of the CR Society? If so, his Facebook link is shown. Maybe you could talk to him?
Thanks for the pointer. I really really want to still feel hope that we can get invisionforum to let us change the DNS for the sake of preserving the health of people in the community (it should be such an easy tradeoff, it encourages people to eat healthy like no other community did).

I emailed invisionforum support and they said this:
Hello,
Someone who is a formal member of the society and can furnish any payment or documents that they have paid for the community or next of kin with a documentation from the original owner stating that it is owned by the society or the deceased wishes for it to be passed to the society. Otherwise, we are unable to perform any action from anyone against the community.
I don’t know if my reading of English is correct, but they are basically saying that the dead person should be resuscitated, then should release a statement, then let to rest in peace again
@AlexKChen : have you tried to get in touch with Dean Pomerlau? He should be present on social media. I canceled my Facebook account and have no other social media accounts.
So I think you may have missed out on the OR operator. The former (which invisionforum allows) is way easier to get than the latter. The latter is where the snafu arises with GoDaddy.
Dean is not a formal member of the society. And yes, I have already gotten in touch.
The relevant members are the people on the list I’ve mentioned above… Brian Delaney and Michael Rae have had the most high-profile presences. Brian was v. responsive to emails a few months ago, but I don’t know what happened to him now (he might be locally dealing with more than usual, I don’t know)
I don’t know if funding is a snafu, but maybe it’s possible if we could try to raise some funds to show people how much we still care about the forum integrity?

Long-termism should be the goal of crsociety, as should any longevity group be (there is SO MUCH HISTORY captured by crsociety that so few other associations have captured), and it’s so tragic that crsociety is even failing at its basic task of long-termism. If they care about their own longevity, maintaining the forums is a basic minimum because otherwise they’re basically at risk of disappearing from the entire Internet (which also limits their ability to reach out to newer generations, which also matters for longevity)
Ok, he has LinkedIn on https://www.linkedin.com/in/kentonmullins/ , maybe I could message him there.

Brian Delaney is also co-admin of Welcome to the Age Reversal Forum! - Announcements - Age Reversal Forum …
Ok, it’s confirmed that Brian is going through a lot right now (but he’ll be more available in not long), I think the forums are still saveable…

Someone reached out to me thanking me for my efforts to resurrect the forum. It does mean a lot to me.
FYI Invisionforum does have an option for making forum exports available, but AGAIN, someone needs admin access for this to work
Fuck, I’m really starting to lose sleep over this
I just tried it, still dead. Crazy.
