CRP Lowering Medications

If you want to lower your inflammation (CRP) levels. You may look here…

For instance Telmisartan lowers CRP.

Hopefully these also lower IL-6 and IL-11 as well.

More and more I am thinking that these biomarkers of health (or poor health) are just symptoms of deeper, systemic problems. Sure, we can improve an isolated biomarker with a targeted drug or a therapy but did that solve the root cause or cover up the symptom (put out the bulb on the warning light?).

But to improve health it’s the basics that are known to work. Varied regular exercise, good sleep, stable circadian rhythm, sufficient nutrients, fewer calories than desired, avoid constant toxin exposure, happiness, a little bit of sunshine, exposure to magnificence.

Similarly when I hear that EMF is making someone sick I think they must have low resilience. Sure, get the WiFi out of the bedroom but be sure to start working out.

Rapa is the exception not the rule. Drugs don’t play a dominant role in good health, only in poor health. My opinion.

That is very good news re Telmisartan (one of my favourite items in my longevity stack, make me feel very Zen).

Here is an article about Telmisartan and CRP

From the linked article it seems that other angiotensin receptor blockers such as Valsartan did just as well at lowering CRP. Any reason you guys favor Telmisartan?

I’ll tell my wife, this is why hanging out with me is good for her test results

@Steve_Combi Good luck with that one. I’m thinking it would not be a good longevity strategy in my house.

I’m having an exceptionally positive experience with telmisartan. My goal was to lower typically mid- to high normal BP to a more constant low normal level. It has done that well and seems (subjective: no evidence) to facilitate less reactivity to situations that might elevate BP. (I’m a pilot and have often wondered about the BP effects of challenging traffic events in the pattern such as one I had this morning). My hsCRP was already ~0.29 before initiating telmisartan. I’ll be testing again soon but I’m not expecting, nor would I necessarily want, any further reduction in that metric.
