I am dealing with a few conditions for which off label Tirzepatide is often helpful, anecdotally speaking. Plus a medication I was put on a while ago caused quite a bit of weight gain. So even though I’m not obese, I wouldn’t mind some positive side effects on that front.
I am interested in trying 0.5 mg to 1.25 mg weekly. And I have a new PCP who I think is more willing to listen to some of these oddball requests than other PCP‘s. But there’s no way I can pay the pharmacy prices here. I did notice that pomegranate.com has a great pricing on 40 mg of the product ($219 which would provide anywhere between 32 weeks and more than a year of doses for me), but it is supposed to be as part of their obesity program and taking high doses. I think the intake is all based on obesity and not having too many compounding conditions (I certainly have compounding conditions). And then, how easy would it be to use the needles to get such precise microdoses if that’s not what the vials were intended for? So I don’t even know if that option would be worth mentioning to my doctor.
I’ve looked at some of the compounding pharmacies like striker in Texas, but their prices are exorbitant, even for super low doses. It looks like it would be about $300 out-of-pocket per month. Where can you get the drug micro dosed at prices that actually reflect how small of an amount you’re using?

In the hospital system that I’m stuck in, it’s a little risky mentioning anything off label to a PCP, no matter how great they are. The oversight here can be a little bit hysterical. So I really feel like I need to come in there with all the information in a way that might make her comfortable.
I don’t want to try it from India because of all the issues with temperature control.

Hello, from what I have seen, the companies that specifically offer microdose seem to charge almost the same rate as suppliers of full doses. My suggestion would be to research best practices for cold storage, how long it can really be stored and maintain potency, and then order full dose from a reputable company and cancel once you have built up a max that you can store. Be careful with choosing a telehealth provider, a lot use scammy business practices. I used trimrx and when I tried to cancel, no reply to messages, phone calls, etc. I had to block them with my credit card company. Others have reported the same issue with that company. I am very happy with BEWL, they are very responsive, the tele doc was very good, and prices are competitive.

I was looking to get this in plain old vials, perhaps from pomegranate.com due to great pricing and some reddit recommendations (although I see now that I do not qualify for their BMI). However, those are 40mg vials. Opening a vial up 40-80x to get subsequent doses while somehow staying perfectly sterile–and finding a needle with such fine and high calibration as to get the fractions of a mL required–feels like quite an obstacle yet. And I’m not good with fine motor coordination or great with eyeing things perfectly, try as I may. Back in the day I had science smarts but always relied on the steady hands of lab partners (mostly because they didn’t want me touching anything, lol). Gah!
I guess maybe the cheap option isn’t the right one if I’m to do this and that I’d need to pay more to get far more diluted solutions?
