Celebrity Deaths

That is an interesting thing to look at, so here it a good look at it  The good, the bad, the ugly

I guess Canada is a bit more like the United Federation of Planets (UFP ) where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

And as a small country of 40M with low density, triaging health care is what works for us. Just compare per capita health spending between Canada and the US. And the overall results. I like to use the Alpha and Omega stats. The beginning, child birth mortality and the end, life span.

The biggest issue we are fighting right now is mis-management of the funding. The Federal Gov provides funding to the Provinces that then administer the Provincial health care budget, which is a combination of provincial and federal funding. The conservative provincial governments have diverted a significant amount of Federal funds out of the health care budget so they can force “private clinics” that cost way more to operate but enrich the conservative political donors.

No definitive studies of low-dose lithium orotate in humans. I take it primarily for its mood-altering benefits. Tends to make one “mellower,” reducing anger problems, etc.

Mechanism Summary
Telomere Preservation Lithium may preserve or lengthen telomeres, delaying cellular aging.
GSK-3 Inhibition Reduces neuroinflammation and stress-linked aging pathways.
BDNF Support Promotes brain-derived neurotrophic factor for neurogenesis.
Dementia Protection Associated with lower Alzheimer’s risk in high-lithium water regions.
Mood Modulation Modulates dopamine, glutamate, and GABA neurotransmission.

Thanks! Yes, I notice it also for mood. I am now taking 10mg LO at night, 5mg am. I have experimented with different amounts. This seems to be working well.

Was just puzzled because the comment I replied to sounded like it was relating Ted’s dementia to Lithium use.

No, the point was not “because of”, but rather “despite of”.

Got it. Thanks.

Congestive Heart Failure, 86 years old.

Barney Frank, Massachusetts congressman for 32 years, dies at 86

He was fat also, and that might have helped.

By the time he was quite sick he was pretty emaciated, FWIW.

Pretty average age and cause of death for somebody of his demographic, I think?

I saw this news also: Kyle Busch, two-time Nascar champion, dies aged 41 | Nascar | The Guardian

I don’t know who he is, but 41 is very young. Cause of death isn’t given, but he was hospitalised with illness, and this was said:

During a Nascar Cup Series race on 10 May at Watkins Glen, Busch radioed in to his crew requesting medical aid from Dr Bill Heisel and a “shot” after the race. According to the TV broadcast, Busch had been struggling with a sinus cold that was exacerbated by the intense G-forces and elevation changes at the upstate New York road course.

So some sort of serious infection maybe?

Which almost never kills a 41 year old healthy person.

I mean sure COVID, Ebola, raw oysters but none start with this prodrome.

Brain abscess from a sinus infection but usually requires some degree of immunocompromise. I am curious. Excessive steroids trying to get back to racing would do it and that is my hypothesis at this point. “I need a shot” - spoken like someone who has had this before a bit too much.

But did he obtain optimal care?

10-Cent Pill Could Transform Heart Failure Treatment Worldwide

Ok, so Busch died of pneumonia and sepsis.

41yo healthy enough to drive a race car.

My only guess is he was using steroids to make it to races but how someone wouldn’t also do antibiotics which should have afforded him some protection.

I chalk this up (without proof) of another rich famous person getting terrible medical care because they were rich and famous.
