The Buck Institute is offering a Zoom and/or in person seminar on status/outlook for treatments for neurodegenerative disease. Wondering whether others have attended prior meetings and whether they were worthwhile.
It would not be worth the time to hear that Alzheimers is a disease with multiple causes and that the search thus far for a single silver bullet drug has proved fruitless.
It would not be worth it to hear that the drugs we have now β donepezil, lecanimab, only postpone decline and only in some patients, and that there are pretty horrible side effects for some people (such as brain bleeds on lecanimab).
It would not be worth it to hear about Bredesen and others on diet/lifestyle. Already read all that.
But would love to hear if people have gotten new information from a Buck seminar that was not already available online. Anyone planning to attend this one? (Itβs only $10.)
