Speaking of topless, it’s legal for anyone to go topless in Ontario. When the law was challenged in 1996 and the Ontario Court of Appeal de-criminalized it, my buddies and I were stoked! Expecting to see a lot more toplessness but seems like even the ladies who fought for the right to bare (mostly) all, are not as enthusiastic about it as we hoped LoL!

Dave Pascoe looks absolutely amazing. Having said that: his lifestyle routine does look like a fulltime job - including the number of supplements he takes. I’m wondering up to what extent such rigorous/extensive supplement regimens really have an appreciable effect on health span. (Albeit of course also depending on types of supplements, but with consumption of such high numbers of supplements, do we still have a clue about the effects and interactions either way?)

Hats off to him that he can keep up with such a detailed regimen. (I’m probably too chaotic to ever be able to achieve that).

I listened to it and it helped me understand my own lab trends better which I was happy to see have been moving in the right direction. I appreciate that he shared his story and experience even if I would personally make slightly different choices.

For what age group? It’s the difference from being 60-70+ years old on the normal ASCVD trajectory and 20.

I noticed a red flag watching a bit of the video. Only checked out various timestamps. I might be missing stuff.
Around 2:03:00 he mentions his testosterone and he says that running improved his testosterone but he seems unsure as I doubt he’s ever measured before and after blood tests for running. While also not taking any products that could manipulate testosterone levels.

He also mentions (around 2:06:10) he uses dhea and pregnenolone.
As well as he uses thyroid for around 30 years (around 44:00). He could use quite of bit of other products, not sure.
My testosterone levels went up using dhea(ony hormone used at time), from the average blood test levels taken throughout the years.
It was my highest testosterone score from all my blood work that I’ve taken to date.

I’ve only taken 1 testosterone blood test using thyroid(only hormone used), and it was higher than my average testosterone levels (2nd highest) but not as high as what dhea made it.
However, timing of the blood test and when both hormones were consumed probably play a factor a bit. Perhaps both hormones together could raise it even more.
Along with time of day tested, fasted or not etc.
From my own testing I believe that thyroid and dhea do raise testosterone levels more than running (without using hormones) does. My guess would be around a 100-250 point raise on average.

Thyroid is also said to boost SHBG and both Pascoe and Lustgarten said they have higher SHBG and both use thyroid med.
I have noticed that my LDL was higher using thyroid medication(T4) which was strange to me as I was thinking it would lower it.
When I was hypothyroid(not using thyroid), my LDL was lower on average. However, I was also 20-25lb lighter on average on those tests as well. Running/jogging more. Lifting weights more now but the 20-25lb gain is not all fat gain either. Still doing some cardio.
Not all my blood testing is done 8+ hours fasted, so that might factor into the readings.

Anyways, I’ve never had my LDL under 1.25. So I have started taking a low dose statin this year.
Thanks to the members here on the forum presenting the information about cardiovascular disease.

If you’re going to take a statin, you might as well take Ezetimibe. They are quite synergistic and more effective than a statin alone.

I think it’s the case that fixing your thyroid allows your “proper” testosterone levels to establish. It’s not that boosting your thyroid also boosts testosterone.

All well and good, but it doesn’t mean the arm chair critics are wrong… a positive CAC is a positive CAC, no matter how great you look on the outside or how much red yeast rice you take.

Still, all credit to him for pushing boundaries.

Reality is he is in better shape and condition the most people his age on the planet.

And in my view the majority of “arm chair” comments, opinions are wrong/incorrect.

“Arm chair” comments/opinions are from people that have never stepped into the arena, on the subject they “speak” about. That is reality.
