That is notable if true. Begs the question of who’s not in these files?!
No one, the answer is absolutely no one!
The link to the emails:
I’ll still listen to his podcasts when there’s a topic that interests me, but I will unsubscribe to his emails, podcast, and YouTube now just so he profits less from me. I can still get the info. I’m running out of people to boycott!
EDIT:
Discussed in another thread and it was noticed my link no longer works. This is what you find. It’s pretty damning.
Have you tried producing a regular podcast? It has to evolve into a wider version of teh author’s world view… and I for one understand and welcome it. Am I interested in anything related to archery or car racing? Never! So I have an option to skip these… But my friend who is into car racing was absolutely delighted to geek out listening to Attia, an intelligent and eloquent human being, dissecting this topic. So not a sign of quality deterioration in my point of view.
The question of Attia’s involvement is serious. It goes to character and trust. I have seen what are purported to be additional Attia/Epstein email traffic in which Attia appears to be more “involved.” It will be one thing if he stands up and is transparent as to whatever his level of involvement, taking responsibility as appropriate, and another if he spins out a tale that gets progressively chewed up as more facts fall into place. For now, and based only on these emails, he gets a marginal benefit of the doubt, awaiting more information. A squeaker though and only because with some effort I can imagine a scenario that doesn’t place Attia in the soup.
As far as I can tell, I think the most generous interpretation of the emails is he is comfortable socializing and being close with a known pedophile. I don’t know how you recover from that one?
Only that I know people who are quite clear on what they judge as wrong yet will passively engage with the intention of effecting some good and perhaps learning more. I’m not suggesting that this is the case or that I think such is a good strategy, only that I can recall times when I didn’t allow for the interpretation and turned out to be wrong, even though I might not have agreed with the person’s strategy.
Oh, that is definitely a very valid point and I do believe that can be true and acceptable in many circumstances… but I’ve read a ton of the emails, and, in this case, he is complimentary of his ways and even eggs him on… meaning, he’s not the voice of reason trying to be a positive influence.
I didn’t know that @Beth. Definitely disqualifying in that event. I was genuinely saddened to learn these things. While I was not always in alignment with his interpretation of subtle scientific issues, I respected and defended how he went about his work.
With you 100% Beth. Attia emailed Epstein shortly after the big new story broke about his 80 victims, and asked whether he’s suffering any consequences of the article. Super gross.
If he was a doctor, and Epstein was his patient, that’s one thing. But if you’re sharing dirty jokes and randomly sending him flattering compliments, that’s just totally unacceptable IMO.
This just in.
Peter Attia out as CBS News contributor after name appeared over 1,700 times in Epstein files
That gig is done.
