He admitted to being a selfish parent/partner at that time, but this is salt in the wound.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
No, but after taking a walk to unwind after discovering this and then rereading this it doesn’t mean that Bryan was in contact it’s that they conspired to get in contact with him. I’ll look more into it.
This is quite interesting. What on Earth is meant by “customized designed viruses which is very hard to win in asymmetric warfare”? Just happened to find this by searching “aubrey de grey”
I’ll present what I found after looking through everything on Bryan Johnson and Aubrey de Grey. I’m open to being corrected on any of this.
Apparently Bryan met with Epstein on mainland United States according to this email (so not on the island. Keep in mind he was reached out to as well, not the other way around).

As far as Aubrey de Grey is concerned, it isn’t a good look at all but I didn’t find any evidence of Aubrey going to the island or saying anything suspicious and I can believe that he would reach out to any rich person he could get in contact with to secure funding. I pray this is all this is.
So the Epstein Files aren’t a conspiracy theory? Lol
I’m voting that this whole topic is inappropriate for this forum.
I’ll say I’ve been pretty frozen about Minnesota and this is just the distraction I needed.
Attia definitely knew… no doubt.
What I don’t know is if people like BJ knew. Was it widely known at the time? He was interested in longevity as was pointed out. I found an email talking about going to see Sinclair (his talk, not to meet him)
@KarlT I get what you mean, but at the same time, we have had many threads/discussion about people’s character in this space and who we find trustworthy. But more importantly, please don’t take this from me… my mental well being needs this.
I mean no one is forcing anyone to click or participate in the discussion.
@Beth This thread can be seen as a question of whom we choose to trust in the search for a longer healthspan—and perhaps even a longer lifespan. Human nature nad our societies are full of conflicting ambitions, (which reminds me of some anthropology classes I once took)
Why Matt Kaeberlein remains my longevity rock star in research and as a cautious role model… but very open to adjustments as information is learned.
Hopefully he will be the one with enough character to back away from Attia. I believe if anyone will, he is the one. I don’t foresee many others doing the same, unfortunately. I hope I’m wrong and there are lines that are even too far to cross for the podcast bros.
OK faint signs of some heat on this thing. Haven’t lived so long by sticking my neck out. I follow Dirk, very normal guy and he’s picked up on it, but the tweet that he commented on was deleted. So care is warranted, fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Probably just Attia bitching to X, but could be lawyer shit. https://x.com/CrisprGlenn/status/2017648369305366899
Can’t these guys get laid? Or are wealth, education, and power all a veneer? Do we all bear the mark of the beast?
Well, all I’m trying to do is maximize my health span and hopefully lifespan therefore I couldn’t care less if Attia or whoever else met with Epstein. It is interesting to read (and disgusting at same time, no point on going further however) but it is actually non relevant to the subject of longevity and frankly to anything that is going on today in the world. All it matters to me is the fact that the scumbag got what he deserved, he hanged himself. End of story for me. I wouldn’t mind if some of his friends did the same. Other than that, it is a non-issue IMO.
The whole thing started because they did get laid but in the worst way possible.
I don’t want to say anything political but rape and sexual abuse are being normalized from the very top down so no I don’t expect much beyond a shrug from anyone but those of the highest integrity among people.
I was never a big follower of Attia but have listened to maybe 10+ of his podcast episodes. He always struck me as annoying in that his way of questioning his guests had often little bearing to elucidating the topic for listeners and always a not very subtle whiff of signaling how smart or sophisticated he is — just a smarmy, self indulgent whiff overall. And his longevity insights are actually very crude. I even listened to his series on MasterClass to see if there was anything special, and no. If anything if that was his whole longevity philosophy boiled down to basics it was even dumber than I had imagined:
You bring lipids under control — ok everyone knows that now. Yeah watch for lp(a) and apob instead of just ldl. Fine. He has very little to say about insulin sensitivity beyond “don’t be a diabetic.” Build muscle and do a ton of zone 2 cardio. Ok. For dementia he doesn’t have much to say really, other more cardio and muscle. And learn to dance …. It’s completely banal and low value to anyone who is remotely interested in health.
There’s a ton of fear mongering about this marginal decade — as if everyone will be training several hours a week at the gym for decades so that in their 90s they can go skiing or some shit like that. And he transitioned real real fast from medicine to being a gym bro, giving advice about how to lift and how much and how often and supersets. Even the background music changed to some sort of porno sounding background for dudes at the gym to bro out. And it was just dumb, my God. I was embarrassed for him. He didn’t even go through BFR exercises or anything novel and interesting. Just keep progressing with weights or reps or time under tension and you’ll make it to 100. Zero discussion on whether avoiding one of the horsemen can bring you closer to another one’s path, just increase your VO2max bro. No upper limit, no marginal diminishing returns.
The man is a douchebag.
@medaura all said so well. I am following this on twitter (I rarely go on which is obvious by me calling it twitter) and I’m heartened to see the majority of negative comments are other men calling him out.
@Kelman it’s completely fair that you don’t care about the topic. It’s only relevant in that we need to be able to trust the longevity advice you are getting from people. I’ve previously shared that I already knew he couldn’t fully be trusted based on some past things, but once you have been shown to have a moral bar this low, you unfortunately realize you shouldn’t trust anything from them because there is nothing that is beneath them. For clarity, I’m not even saying he was a pedophile, but anyone with an ounce of character doesn’t stay in the home of one. It saddens me because I rely on learning from the smartest of us in this space.
