Astaxanthin: A Potential Treatment in Disease and Aging, Lifespan Increase

I am always so impressed by the deep knowledge here. Being academic and interested in the scientific side I learn so much from this site. Although I dont yet use rapamycin I am still very interested in other supplements that have efficacy. Thank you everyone!

There are also specific ā€œtan in a bottleā€ supplements marketed towards skin color usually containing astaxanthin.

This is one of many.

Itā€™s just carotenodermia!

@jeanbaptiste Is the color difference all from the Astaxanthin? Or do you get a lot of sun exposure as well?

Iā€™m also taking melanotan 2 at 1mg a day, but the orange-yellow color is definitely from carotenoids supplementation. No sun exposure in France, itā€™s winter and very cloudy

I take 12mg astaxanthine and lutein/zeaxanthin/lycopen, 35mg/5mg/15mg if I remember well. More like an experiment to increase serum albumin level. It seems to work I was 52g/L last time I checked!

keep us updated about your Album, Please.

Lutein/zeaxanthin/lycopen is an interesting combination, especially lutein/zeaxanthin for eye health and brain health. Now in Jan 2025, it is higher up on my list of useful compunds than it was a few years ago.

Iā€™m disappointed, I did a small check-up this morning and albumin is back to baseline. Last time I might just be dehydrated

@Curious and @jeanbaptiste

I had not realized lycopene was potentially good for eye health until you mentioned this.

I had wondered why they put that in the blueprint supplement I take

Based on another thread and video shared, I have added Meso zeaxanthin into my mix.

I have a friend losing his vision due to macular degeneration, so Iā€™m all about taking eye vitamins this year.
