Lutein/zeaxanthin/lycopen is an interesting combination, especially lutein/zeaxanthin for eye health and brain health. Now in Jan 2025, it is higher up on my list of useful compunds than it was a few years ago.
What’s said is done lol
Farmed salmon, coocked tomatoes, 0% yogurt with chives and salt, and fruits bowl with kiwis, banana, blueberries and cocoa nibs.
And of course the astaxanthin supplement NatAxtin
I don’t for you but in France the increase is fresh fish price is unreal.
Key information on dosing is humans are much more efficient at absorbing asta than mice, so the ITP dose that we originally converted as more than 1,500+ mg, is equivalent to about 12 to 24 mg of the good astaxanthin. Multiply that by 3 if you’re using Now or Bulk Supplements brands.
Dosing: 12-24mg of AX3, or 36-72mg of Now or Bulk Supplements astaxanthin provides equivalent serum concentration in humans as the ITP dose in mice.
We do not have evidence to show, that Astaxanthin has likely an anti-wrinkle effect. So it has a benefit in terms of skin moisture and elasticity, but not the skin wrinkling.

Vid is 31:32 long. I only viewed the summary. Physionic provides vid chapter/portion titles.

He mentioned a study his team performed that had the same group of people take AX3 and then later, another brand. They measured peak concentration and AUC over 24 hours. He claims both measures showed AX3 was on average 3x higher.
Bulk Supplements is way cheaper though. You get 3x the amount for less than half the price of AX3. That’s what I use, 120mg per day, 4 days per week (away from weekly rapamycin dose).
Fantastic video. Long, but it’s a full synopsis of astaxanthin.
Been using the bioavailable form he talked about ever since the ITP results, but I take 12mg because it would be pretty cost prohibitive to take more on a daily basis.
I really think the boost in the Fox-O pathway could be responsible for the longevity.
I’ve been taking asta for 10+ years, and have been taking about 100mg / day for the past 4 years. This thread is making me even more bullish on it. What a wonderful supp! The claim that human dosing req to equal mouse dosing is 1-2 orders of magnitude less, even after adjusting for allometric scaling, is quite a revelation. I might lower my dose a bit.
Genja, what brand are you taking? The effectiveness of 100 mg can vary significantly between brands due to differences in absorption rates. Some brands with superior absorption might deliver the equivalent effect of 100 mg with just 20 to 30 mg of the active ingredient.
Since AX3 isn’t sold on Amazon, I won’t use it. It’s too logistically annoying to use non-Amazon supps. Just will take higher dose of microingredients.
