Are we wrong about the perfect protein intake?

Just for the heck of it I used ChatGPT to calculate food serving sizes based on a 1.2 g/kg/day level of protein for a 135-pound carnivore like me. Well, I say carnivore, but omnivore is more appropriate. As it turns out this is pretty close to what I would actually eat for daily protein from animal sources. However, if I add my plant sources of protein I move pretty close to the 1.5 g/kg/day of total protein intake.

Meal Food Portion Protein
Breakfast Eggs 2 large ~13 g
Lunch Chicken breast 3 oz cooked ~26 g
Dinner Canned salmon 5 oz drained ~35 g
Total ~74 g

Always has been, which is why you can to retain or even increase muscle strength if you lift weights during fasts or calorie deficits. Lifting is the signal your body needs to increase muscle quality, protein is the supply needed to achieve that. Without a signal, protein just gets used for other purposes.
