The question;.
How can the āalcohol-dehydrogenase-mediated anti-aging responseā (AMAR) be applied/activated/increased in humans?
Other studies have shown that activated protein kinase C epsilon (PKCε) can lead to activation of its [ALDH1] downstream substrate ALDH2, which plays a protective role in heart and brain injury [37,85,88,188]. Moderate levels of ethanol [37,189], isoflurane [190], estrogen [140], heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) [85], and melatonin [188] have been reported to increase ALDH2 activity by enhancing the mitochondrial import of PKCε.
In addition to specific activators, antioxidants such as lipoic acid (LA) [191], resveratrol [192], and vitamins such as D and E indirectly activate ALDH2 activity via related signaling pathways, which can effectively reduce the risk of cell damage and disease. Previous studies showed that LA activated ALDH2 in animal models of heart failure, nitrate tolerance, and diabetes [193,194,195]. Consequently, these antioxidants and vitamins have been the subjects of further research and development [196,197].
I know of a way to unregulate alcohol dehydrogenaseā¦
You are recommending alcohol/increase alcohol consumption?
