ALA reduces lifespan?

ALA lowers lifespan in mice?

This might be an easy one to strike from the list. Any thoughts? (I’m taking ALA).

I don’t know what you are taking it for, but I was taking it to see if it lowered my fasting glucose levels. It didn’t, and since I found no positive effects from taking it I scratched it from my list.

That study used senescence accelerated mice.

In normal mice (R/S)-lipoic acid had no effect on lifespan per the study below.

Alpha lipoic acid was part of a supplement mix used in another study in mice. Mean lifespan was extended by 11% in normal mice.
