Acarbose prescriptions in Canada? Telehealth recommendations?

I noticed that acarbose is not as prohibitatively expensive in Canada as SGLT-2 inhibitors, even though medicine in general can be cheaper outside North America.

I’m curious if anyone has had experiences getting a prescription for acarbose in Canada without necessarily demonstrating the existence of diabetes?

Acarbose should be much easier to get in Canada vs. rapamycin or SLGT2 inhibitors. Its been around for many decades, is cheap and generic and the only side effects are gas and sometimes diarrhea - and GPs likely prescribe it (though not nearly as much as Metformin). Definitely ask your doctor.
