For those of you on Acarbose and an SGLT2 inhibitor at the same time, can you explain the rationale of doing both? My PCP prescribes me Farxiga and does not see the benefit of also prescribing Acarbose. I’d appreciate your input.
Two drugs that lower serum glucose by different mechanisms. You doctor probably doesn’t think you need two drugs at this point. Would depend on your glucose levels.
I have taken both together without significant side effects.
