About to start Rapamycin

I am 68, UK resident. Health and fitness good overall. All the regular blood tests came back normal to my GP (doctor)'s slight astonishment.

I have just received my first consignment of Siroboon 1 mg tablets from IndiaMart.

I have looked at the advice in similar topics, but was wondering if there are any blood tests I should get prior to starting the medication. My financial situation is OK but various tests seem more expensive in this country and I need to budget for them so don’t want to spend unnecessarily.

The option of a blood glucose monitor or CGM seems a low-cost possibility. I’d need to order this, though.

To me the word “Siroboon” is one to check. Zydus and Biocon seem OK, but Siroboon probably best to search the forum.

In the UK I tend to use Randox and Medichecks.

FWIW, there seems to be a consensus here that Siroboon is definitely to be avoided. Sure, it’s cheaper, but if it doesn’t work, it’s money wasted, no matter how cheap. Of course, it’s your money, so your choice.

Oh dear, I wasn’t aware of that. I thought it was generic.

Yes, there are definitely some brands that test well. RapaPro is another one that has tested well in my experience.
