A startup claims it’s found a drug to make your blood young (Generation Lab)

That’s not the read I take away from taking it down. There’s a lifetime’s real research here. This was clumsy and most likely they’ve realized it and corrected. It’s easy to overlook the very human aspect here. If you’ve been researching something your entire career and you believe you’ve made a real breakthrough I think it would hard not to get excited. This isn’t a room full of college students. There’s a long tradition of scientists experimenting on themselves. It’s not a stretch that the entire lab believes in the work sufficiently to feel confident enough to try it on themselves. That has no bearing on the efficacy though. I’m cautiously optimistic that this has more to do with them feeling that they’ve made a breakthrough, rather than…it’s all hype and we got found out. Like everything this lives and dies by the trial data.
