Update from Ora: “Looks like your experiment (ORC1034) got started 6/13. With post-experiment data analysis and QC, I would estimate data will come back to you around the week of July 21st.”

Apologies for the delay. Yes, I’m taking rapamycin, and have been for about 6 months. I’m not sure what mechanism would make IPAM an immune system inhibitor, or how it would enhance the mTOR inhibiting effects of Rapamycin.

That being said, I feel like my immune system got slaughtered after that single dose of IPAM. There were the ulcers; and I also got a really bad cold that I still haven’t recovered from. I haven’t been sick like this for the past few months, even though my family has been sick several times (maybe thanks to rapa?). This time it was the opposite, I came down hard but the rest of the fam is okay.

I’ll be curious to see other’s reactions for those willing to give this a shot. Maybe what I experienced is a one off reaction and others will have a smoother rider; and maybe this is all a coincidence on my end and not IPAM related at all (doubtful, but maybe).

This is the first time I realize there’s a difference ; I believe these were canker sores because they were inside my mouth, less around my lips.

What implication does this have (if any)?

It’s a typical reaction to rapamycin believed to be caused by the slow down in the epithelial mucosal cells’ turnover rate inside your mouth. The implication is that it sucks. But at least it doesn’t mean that rapamycin is causing a herpes simplex 1 outbreak for you. Once I had a cold sore right around my rapa dose and it got me wondering if it was causal but it wasn’t repeated so I assume it was just a fluke.

Interesting. I’ve gathered user reports from a variety of places and not once have I heard of such a reaction.

The thing with IPAM is anyone who is willing to consume it is willing to consume a wide array of molecules so it’s difficult to pinpoint it.

It’s possible that IPAM, much like rapamycin, is processed by the CYP3A4 enzyme. Certain supplements and medications lead to the inhibition of this enzyme which causes any drug that is metabolized by it to stay active in the body for longer than it normally would. This is why people intentionally take grapefruit juice with their rapamycin.
