There are already over a dozen GLP-1RAs out there, and new ones keep popping up. A lot of reviews tend to lump them all together when talking about anti-aging, but I’m curious—which specific GLP-1RA do you think is best for anti-aging, and why?
Would love to hear your latest thoughts and personal insights. What’s your take?
It depends. Retatrutide seems to be great for liver health and cholesterol but can also cause your resting heart rate to go into overdrive. Tirzepatide seems better for inflammation management.
Thank you so much for your answer! I totally agree with you. I actually have one more question for you: How do you feel about people with a low BMI using semaglutide purely for its cardiovascular benefits?
It’s a gamble I’m comfortable taking. Analysis of semaglutide SELECT trial shows that the reduction of mace from it has only a small association with baseline weight and weight loss.
Weight independent protection could come from :
Direct Vascular Activation: GLP-1 receptors on vascular endothelial cells increase nitric oxide production, improving endothelial dysfunction independently of metabolic changes.
reduction of hsCRP
Plaque Stabilization, only demonstrated in pré clinical and translational studies
