UV Light for Health (Vit D is NOT sunshine in a pill) -- a link to a podcast

AIUI the main argument for sun exposure (beyond vitamin D) is exposure to Red and Near Infra Red light rather than more blue light (much that it might help for sleep).

The argument made by Prof Prue Hart and this article is there is more than vit D from UV radiation. She argues that our bodies respond to UV in ways (in addition to vit d) that positively impact our immune system. The science is emerging now.

She also says don’t get too much UV and only a little regular UV is necessary to get the benefits she has studied.

As to the relative effect between Vit D, IR, and other UV benefits, I don’t know. But why choose? Get ‘em all.
