I just read about tixel and besides results, i like the fact that it is one purchase only - no further purchases / hassle afterwards. In the meantime am trying to read up about it so as to be informed once I eventually end up buying one.
As proposed elsewhere, I would also be interested in sharing a device but since am based in Spain I doubt I can find someone else in the neighbourhood ( but if yes do let me know )
People can blame the knockoff device but they probably didn’t read the instructions. There’s settings for depth and duration of contact and if they don’t tweak those accordingly things can get weird. DIY isn’t for everyone.
I use nothing but “knockoffs.” What’s more I know there’s no difference between them and the genuine article other than price, someone’s logo, and that someone’s arbitrage profits off my purchase. The brand name products are all made in the same Chinese factory, purchased in bulk, with the buyer getting to specify its own logo and marketing inserts.

This is the cheapest one found so far (but shipping and customs and tax would be 600 USD more for me)
Contrary to what title says it is for one Handle as 2 handles would be around 500 Euro ( and more shipping) I wonder though if handle may be the same anyway for face and body)
Yes but upon asking I understand that this is excluding vat and customs : specifically asking for shipment DDP to my place of residence in Spain , around 600 USD were added. So I may wait a bit more if sth more interesting arrives …
I saw on pictures ( of another seller I think) that one was indeed labelled as face ( the left one) and the right one as “ body “ ; I haven’t got to asking info on this yet … ( but given that there are settings and that they seem to indicate only “ one “ or “ two handles” , for personal use one handle may be enough and could be used for all if needed)
PS update: I just got back answer on my question to seller on this and he replied the size of the handles is the same but settings are different - communication in English is not their strongest point so will check with other sellers too.
From a video from another seller, i see the settings to choose from are indeed different:
face: ms from 5 to 16, body : ms from 8 to 20
face: um 200-800 ; body : um 600 to 1200
Hey, thanks for the link. How did you work out what the custom charge would be?
The exact listing you linked says unavailable for delivery to the UK for me, but I found what looks like the same with the same price delivery £9 , it doesn’t mention custom charges anywhere. I am window shopping at this point though would need to save up for a while. Wish it was possible to share!
I found an official tixel treatment in my place of residence for 425 euros ( 650 euros if neck is included; neck apart would be 375 euros ) so I wonder if it wouldn’t be good to have the treatment by a professional before experimenting myself … what would you do ? The price is almost half of what another doctor gave me ( a third one didn’t want to share price info over the phone so I took an appointment to get a third option…)
( all three I found through the tixel Spain website)
The cheapest price I found so far for the machine is 1888 euros (tax and customs and shipping to my door included )
The price would also include the “ growth factor” cream one would have to put the following week …
The thing I’m concerned about is that in the studies I’ve read on pubmed they mention two different shaped tips that belong to the Tixel machine - an “s” shaped one which is non-ablative and a “d” shaped one which is ablative. I have no idea which this machine would come with, I tried asking sellers on the Ali’s but I possibly wasn’t understood. I can’t see it mentioned on any listing for a Tixel imitation.
Aside from the tip worry, the one handle machines seem to go up to 5-16ms and 200-800 microns depth (asked a few sellers) so I’m under the impression if you put the settings up high you might be able to use it effectively on the body too. Any thoughts?
On Internet I didn’t find the protocols per area and the manual I received from one seller (took a lot of insisting but one sent it to me) is - besides in bad English - extremely basic (as are those from the other appliances I bought) (basically, it said settings for cheek and for body; I assume they mean face with cheek … the one RadAdm uploaded is actually slightly better)
Also I understand they use anesthesia here (in video’s online and Bryan J. mostly cold air blower but not included in the machine- i could use icepacks though but that would prolong time of treatments if i have to hold icepack 5 minutes against each spot ) so am wondering if I would be able to do it myself and without anesthesia and just in general, not being a professional, I wonder whether it would not be wise to have one treatment done by professional so I can take note of all the steps and information I get , without experimenting myself … on the other hand am sure it is not difficult, and you are right in that the first treatment may not even bring much (they seem to insist to at least 3 treatments, even more in the first year - only the ‘cheap’ cost estimate I got did not sell this in a package but of course if you need 3 or more in the end it gets even more costly. I think it is my lack of experience that may be talking…did someone else here already did the treatment and may be able to share some info? thanks a lot
you can ask the seller what would be exact costs of customs and vat etc to your door; if you ask shipping DDP (delivery duty paid) you dont get surprise afterwards, so I prefer this… but maybe where you are it might be less, no clue…
they sustain it would be slightly cheaper if you take care of it yourself but got some unpleasant experiences in past (plus also read some in alibaba reviews) so I prefer paying up front and have no surprises later…
It’s very important to find out if it’s ablative or non-ablative. I assume that it’s non-ablative as it’s less damaging to skin especially if used by non-professionals.
Not yet. The prices in Los Angeles are ridiculous. I’ve found a provider out of state so I’m just weighing up whether or not to pull the trigger on it.
I understood from info on the net that it is either ablative or not, depending on the settings you put
The picture below is from the Tixel Spain website : the longer the contact , the more ablative
I also did seem to understand from what I read so far that, while the Ali ‘ ones only have one tip ( 1 cm2) , at least according to the manuals I have seen, the “original “ would have a small and a bigger surface ( a small for eye surfaces and bigger for rest of face … to speed up treatment)
So, do you think you could do this procedure on yourself (by yourself)? If you buy the equipment yourself, is this a reasonable thing people could do themselves, or would you need a partner/friend help? How easy did it look to administer? Much that could go wrong?
