Tinfoil like packaging on modafinil and Acarbose...is too similar

I am currently on the road and stopped for a poke bowl at a restaurant. I have been taking india-sourced Acarbose frequently during this trip, and try to keep the strip of acarbose tablets in my pocket.

As I started the eat my poke bowl I remembered I needed to take my acarbose. I pulled the acarbose out and quickly chewed and swallowed two tablets. The taste was surprisingly unpleasant…not at all like Acarbose normally tastes. So I looked more closely at the package and realized I have just chewed up two 120mg tablets of modafinil. I get the feeling I won’t be sleeping tonight.

Ah… Not so much…

That was a rough night. I finally got to sleep after 5am… Then up at 9am.

The only thing that saved me today was taking another modafinil tablet this morning, and I have felt fine all day.

Definitely don’t repeat my mistake!

Can you share why you are modafinil and what dose do you take? Any negative side effects?

This is why I keep things in their original box most of the time.

Talking about taking the wrong tablet, I am
In the middle of a VP face peel and on day 2 I decided to take Volterol for my burning face, I was thinking Tylenol, 2 tablets when I realized I had taken 2 x 100 mg of volterol. (English version) I was really worried as that is far too much pain killer , I immediately got on to AI on my iPhone and Said I had accidentally taken 200 Volterol instead of saying 200 mg . it said go straight to emergency. I told my husband but I thought that was a bit too radical so I decided to have something to eat instead as I had only had cheese and biscuits for dinner. I read the AI response again and realized I had said that I had taken 200 Volterol instead of 200 mg AI must have thought I had taken 200 tablets .i won’t make that mistake again. I slep well

I’ve been trying it out primarily because it is works partially through the orexin pathway, so wanted to see its effects. And for those situations where I’ve had a lousy sleep but need to be very productive.

So I’ve tried it a few times. Not a major impact (at 1/2 pill, or 60mg). No side effects, I just feel fully awake for much longer than I would normally. I frequently get head aches when I am sleep deprived.

My take away is it’s good to have when you really need it, but I won’t use it very often. I want to try the new orexin drugs (Not the DORAs) at some point when we have access to them.

I bet the orexin agonist drugs feel a lot cleaner than modafinil.

Your post inspired me to have half a tablet of modafinil this morning. I bit one in half since I didn’t want the full experience. The taste is weirdly bitter and lingers for a long time. You’re telling me acarbose tastes worse than this?

No, acarbose tastes fine. It’s the modafinil that tastes bad

RapAdmin, That is a lot of modafinil. I hope you’ve recovered well. What brand of modafinil comes in 120 mg tablets? I’ve only found them in 200 mg tablets.
