I hope you don’t take it the wrong way but while metformin MIGHT help with cancer re-occurrence (and this is a huge might, otherwise cancer reoccurrence would be a thing of the past. BTW two of my first cousins died of re occurrence breast cancer in last three years and I know one of them was on metformin for last 20 years or so. So maybe metformin is a very small factor in preventing cancer reoccurrence I don’t think it is enough of a factor to sway your decision on replacing it with Imeglitin regardless of imeglitin having same effect or not. Clearly your problem is glucose/insulin related plus preserving muscle seems as something you need (since you already are thin). The main consideration IMO should be regarding the fact that it may help preserve muscle while still providing same benefits as metformin. If there are enough studies done to that effect, then it is a no brainer IMO.
I’m watching it closely and researching it further myself and if I’m convinced that it plays a role in preserving muscle, I will make the switch from Metformin in 18 months or so once my current supply of metformin runs out.
p.s. I know there is some doctors (youtube ones) that claim if you eat low or no carbs that will starve cancer cells of glucose, but there is plenty of glucose in any given moment in a human body. Should an increase in glucose levels from say 90 to 120 make such a big difference in cancer progression, it is very doubtful or at least not proven scientifically as of yet. Plus, there is others that claim if you eat nothing but ONLY do juicing of all/most vegetables and fruits (plenty of carbs btw) for a period of 1-2 years you would be cured of cancer. Again, these are all outlandish claims (on both sides) and should be taken with a lot of grain of salt. What it is however considered mainstream and widely accepted, is the fact that processed foods (loaded with chemicals and preservatives) are bad for cancer, while wholefoods natural and/or organic are best bet.
