But do Americans have technology that keeps caps on bottles?
Promise, promise, promise. After watching the hype cycle many, many times in my 66 years on this green earth, I’ve developed 100% immunity to promises. You can knock on my door with “delivery” only, not promises. Think of this as of the UPS man. The UPS man never knocks on your door with a promise of a package, if s/he knocks, it is only with package in hand.
With this approach, you will rarely get a knock on the door, and if you do, it is 100% productive. If you allow knocking by promise bearers, you will be constantly opening your door and constantly disappointed. Which is why I have one of those “No proselytizing” stickers on my door - cuts down on empty promises peddlers and afterlife scammers.
AI needs a lot of technological breakthroughs before it can come even close to the wild hype of the moment. I have seen little movement in key areas. Wake me up when there is a delivery.
We already use AI for productivity boosts at work. I wouldn’t want to work without it anymore.
But you’re most likely right in that this will not cause a superintelligence that makes us all immortal by 2028.
Should not have even tried,
