@buckaroo How does that work? I’m a Costco member but ever used their RX services. Do I need a doctor rx for BA or ezetimibe?
@medaura you definitely still need a doc to write you an rx. And you can go to their website to apply for a coupon/copay card … often you can find these on goodrx as well.
For me, it was still subject to my deductible
I found BA to be quite milquetoast. I am normally on 10 mg atorvastatin, and I decided to alternate the statin with BA, but it’s not nearly as effective as even the lowest dose of statins. Overall ldl/apoB went up. So back to daily statin now.
For me, BA + Ezetimibe reduced my ApoB by 50%. I guess different biologies give different results. I am also horribly statin intolerant, although I have just switched to pitavastatin which does not cause me any muscle myopathy unlike atorvastatin or rosuvastatin.
Right, but Ezetimibe is an old generic. BA on its own was a little underwhelming. I agree that if you can’t tolerate statins, it’s the next best thing we have right now in pill form, until oral PCSK9 inhibitors hit the market.
