Oldest person you know using an advanced big pharma or experimental stack + most expensive stack?

Interested to know the oldest person on YouTube running something advanced.
Like 85+ years old would be quite something to see, and looking/performing/testing all good etc.
There are some great stacks posted on the forum.

What would you like to see be ran if cost was no issue?
Surely there must be someone running a $1+ million/year stack.
Anyone doing genetic therapies? nanobots? or other interesting things?

This is a really great question. The one person that came to mind who is in this space is Kenneth Scott. He is an 82 year old biohacker who is very knowledgeable in the space. Kenneth is incredibly mentally sharp and impressive in many ways.

Thanks for sharing this @RapAdmin!

Thorp’s approach makes a lot of sense to me and I like his point about trying to eliminate the “weak links,” since it just takes one (like an accident) to throw everything out the window. In those photos with the kettlebells, he looks phenomenal.

The fact that he was 153 pounds at 17 years old and is now 155 pounds is also pretty remarkable.

I like hearing about his diet, exercise, supplements, prescription drug use, fitness trackers, etc.

His commentary on overdoing sun exposure and exercise is also quite interesting.

He does look fantastic imo.

Our own @desertshores also fits your description. He’s in great health and has a terrific stack.

Edward O. Thorp, the mathematician known for beating the casinos at blackjack and making a fortune on Wall Street, takes several medications and supplements to maintain his health. He uses Finasteride to address an enlarged prostate, which also helps prevent hair loss, according to Business Insider and Bloomberg. He also takes calcium, magnesium, vitamin K, and vitamin D supplements. In addition, he has researched potential benefits of blood transfusions from young individuals, according to Bloomberg.

I prefer Dutasteride over Finasteride.

Why do you take this view?

For me, Finasteride causes a mild depression. Dutasteride is even milder and sometimes the effects are.unnoticeable. Or maybe I’ve gotten used to it.

Yes indeed, he’s quite an inspiration.

Everyone is different… for me on finasteride (proscar) since in my early 30’s now late 60’s, probably one of my better choices for having a small prostate, less chance of prostrate cancer, still have my hair and clears cholesterol from the blood… Coronary Calcium Scan of zero! If it works - it is great.

No ED or depression - but we are all different. My son uses finasteride to maintain his hair since he turned 30 - also no ED or depression - but we are genetically the same.

I had seen that video before. One thing he mentions is how people over 80, say, have all kinds of restrictions to deal with. e.g. in some countries they may not be able to rent a car if they’re there on vacation. They may be traveling, but they always need a travel companion. Also, he mentions how being older restricts one’s ability to participate in clinical trials. Maybe they think being over 80 is too much of a risk, even if the trial is about anti-aging interventions.

I think some of these problems will evaporate just due to the rising tide of technology. For example, in the not too distant future I would expect driverless cars (Level 4 or Level 5 autonomy) to be commonplace. So, people won’t need to be able to drive anyway; and, eventually, the majority of the population won’t.

And then, also, if people start living much longer, it will make sense to conduct more clinical trials on those older people that make up a large portion of the population. It would be rational for countries to do this, as it would enable them to save money in the long run.

Differences are small, but my doctor prescribed Dutasteride for BPH.

For treating hair loss:

Both drugs are effective at slowing or reversing hair loss in men, but Dutasteride is generally more effective at increasing hair count and stimulating hair regrowth.

In clinical studies, dutasteride (0.5 mg daily) produced significantly greater improvements in hair growth compared to finasteride (1 mg daily).

For treating BPH:

Prostate Shrinkage: Dutasteride may shrink the prostate slightly more than finasteride, but this does not translate into a significant difference in symptom improvement for most patients.

Urine Flow Rate: Some studies suggest dutasteride may provide a modestly greater improvement in maximum urine flow rate (Qmax), but the difference is small and may not be clinically significant for most men.

Desertshores makes a good argument for Dutasteride in his chart. I am surprised how long it is in your system 5 weeks compared to 5-6 hours of finasteride. Huh?

For me, going to keep going with what has worked for decades.

Random question: Are either of these two ( Dutasteride vs. Finasteride) known to effect (lower) testosterone?

Nice. I don’t think I’ve checked out that thread much. Looks like some posts share people older than 70 which is good.
Interesting to read about Edward Thorp.
-Him and his wife took Fosamax and then Boniva for three years. (bisphosphonate’s, which are rated very high on certain longevity medication lists). Then they were taking regular calcium, magnesium, vitamin K, vitamin D supplements.
-Finasteride (women can also use this class of medications but it’s usually off label)

Hard to believe there is not more stuff he takes.

@desertshores Right on. Can you post what’s in your stack? Never seen it.

@fisher1 From various Google charts, it seems there is a slight increase in testosterone from dut or fin.

John G Cramer of the University of Washington. I’ve seen his self experiments on other forums including trying senolytics. I had read a few of his science fiction books before he got into longevity. It seems he’s now 90? https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-g-cramer-01b4181a/. Not an influencer though.
