Is it possible that lower NAD levels could be protective?

I know someone said that increasing NAD levels can cause some kinds of NAD-induced toxicity (simply b/c there is more oxidative metabolism with more NAD, and this oxidative metabolism causes more downstream stress)

NAD+ levels increase energy, but energy itself can still accelerate aging rate
