Disturbing news regarding Medications Ordering from India, Price Increases, Parcels Stopped

Hahaha… right thumb is the main pain… when I move it a certain way… ouch… then pain is gone. Otherwise tolerable.

Arm and belly (treasure trail) hair growth like a sasquatch. All dark hair.

Arm hair I just plucked…almost 3 inches long.

To be honest 1 inch is the norm… but still. :stuck_out_tongue:

India’s government also said the country will temporarily suspend postal deliveries to the United States starting Monday, except letters, documents and gift items of up to $100 in value, the AFP reported.

Contrarian take: It seems like this could be a good time to make an order of medications from India, and I wonder if people might be able to suggest the shipper identifies it as a “gift”

The shippers know best, and will put the appropriate labels to ensure avoidance of seizures. A lot of vendors have made it known that there will be delays in shipping (longer routes), and in many cases tariffs will need to be paid, which will add to the cost of shipping.

Yes, my guy just told me that he can do it, guaranteed.

My guy now says he can’t do business.

Any on the head, or everywhere but the head?

Hair is thick everywhere on my head but the top… at 7 months.

I am hoping I get more hair growth on top of head by month 12.

I will be very vocal if it grows there. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi! Who is “your guy”?

Thanks-

WTF has this got to do with “Disturbing news regarding India”?

I am more concerned about the delay, especially in the hot months. Unless customs opens your package and determines otherwise, the tariff will be assessed on the sender’s valuation of the goods. Since every supplier that I have used significantly undervalues the cost of the goods on the label, I don’t think the cost of the tariffs will be significant.

Hey you KIDS… get out of my yard!! Hahaha

It was a reply to getting HGH shipped.
And, follow-up of how’s HGH working.

TBH - could have been a PM to me.

But… some guys want to know is HGH causing hair growth on the head … a side effect on belly, legs and arms so far. Hoping the head soon.

Obviously not an issue for you.

Messing with you.

UK just suspended parcel shipment to US

Here’s a news article explaining the whole situation. 25 countries involved now.
Best workaround seems to be the shipments from individuals below $100 value.

Wow - this will cause complete chaos in the US and other countries… what a pain. It seems like shipments of medications will likely be paused for sometime.

The United Nations’ Universal Postal Union said it had already been advised by 25 member countries that their postal operators “have suspended their outbound postal services to the U.S., citing uncertainties specifically related to transit services”.

It said the suspensions will remain in place until there is more clarity on how U.S. authorities plan to implement the announced measures.

Also it is not clear if any packages with declared medications can be shipped anymore, since USA recently terminated the personal use exception so all FDA approved medications are now barred from importation by anyone other than Pharma manufacturers.

Ah, the classic “small-government” and “personal freedom” approach of the Republican party.

Do you have a source for this? I’m not seeing any recent news about this.

A near-century-old US import rule exempting low-cost goods from taxes is set to expire this week. Senior global business writer Devin Leonard *reports on the chaos that’s already beginning to ensue. *

Ugh, maybe there was a reason that exemption was in place. Weird!

There’s a sociological theory that claims humanity must relive the past once generational memory has faded. So, bad memories from war keep peace until new generations that have no personal experience of war come up, and the collective memory fades, war becomes an interesting proposition again.

The same lesson must be painfully learned all over again, to refresh memories. And so we test again, separation of powers, state and church, personal freedoms, science vs snakeoil, banking and financial regulations, democracy vs authoritarianism and so on. Tariff exemptions for low value packages is another one of the thousands of remedial courses we’ll all have to live through. If you’ve lived under an umbrella all your life, you might think it an unnecessary fixture, until the rain comes and you have no umbrella.

We’ve had a decent run of our democratic system in the ole US of A. Not perfect by any means, but making steady progress. But now, the demagogues are able to convince a population of no collective memory that the umbrella of a law and rules based society is disposable. It’ll be painful. We can only hope we survive this lesson.

I put in a query to my most reliable source, who ships via Dubai Emirates Post, to confirm if he is still allowed to ship goods to the US through Dubai Emirates Post. If and when I receive a reply, I will post it.

According to information that I could find, the tariff from Dubai has been and still is 10%.

If so, and considering that every shipper from India that I have used undervalues the shipment, the additional cost will be minimal. I haven’t received anything from Dubai since the “de minimis” rule was applied.

"Changes in import regulations for 2025

Recent changes will increase scrutiny on all imported goods, including medications, but do not specifically target personal 30-day supplies:

  • De minimis exemption removed: Starting August 29, 2025, a rule that allowed many low-value international packages to enter the U.S. without taxes or fees will be suspended. This means all imported medications, regardless of value, may now be subject to duties and taxes, increasing the cost of personal importation.

  • Heightened scrutiny: The FDA rescinded a review exemption for certain low-value products as of July 9, 2025, which means all FDA-regulated products will now be reviewed upon import, regardless of quantity or value.

  • State importation programs: Recent executive orders are streamlining the process for states to obtain FDA approval for importation programs, which would facilitate the bulk importation of prescription drugs from Canada. This does not impact personal importation rules directly but may lead to more affordable options in participating states."
