Bryan Johnson Longevity Protocol Discussion (2024)

Hello,
I watched the Bryan Johnson movie. It focused a lot on Bryan and his story. I would have liked to hear more health tips. He spent time discussing the bonding experience with his father and son and sharing plasma. On a higher level, I really think it’s fantastic that Bryan is getting so many people to think about health and longevity. I kind of wish he wasn’t selling supplements and was instead just sharing data and information. He could have become a trustworthy source of consumer information. Nonetheless, it’s great that more people are thinking about longevity.

yes, agree. After wondering for years if the stuff I buy off of Amazon is the real deal or worse full of heavy metals, it is refreshing to not worry about the quality. He recently stated that he brought all his own products to India to eat because he trusts them more than any other food for safety.

Would love to hear a debate between these two. Somebody make this happen

Sadly quite a few of the units seem to be wrong (HbA1c, CRP), but I thought it would add to any discussions.

Some people will do anything for a little publicity… :upside_down_face:

Don’t Die Tech Mogul Bryan Johnson Is in an Actual Penis-Measuring Contest—With His Teenage Son. “Bryan Johnson shared a pair of charts on X Wednesday comparing the duration and ‘quality’ of his nighttime erections compared to his son’s.”

I guess Johnson really is redefining “longevity”…

Should’ve added “no homo” to that.

Definitely. Bryan has done an excellent job making sure everyone has an opinion about him that they need to share. I’m quite sure that’s the intension and I’ll give him credit for it.

Oops, looks like Bryan is discordant between LDL-C and apoB.

In biomarker spreadsheet:

I don’t think it’s possible to get low enough level (30 mg/dl?) without pharmaceuticals.

It’s not entirely clear to me why he doesn’t list all of his biomarkers. Feels like cherry picking the best ones. And many are fitness related, which is great, but arguably fairly easy for anyone to optimize (it’s just a time commitment) vs other markers that often require small molecule interventions. Put another way, many/most of the markers are not related at all to his supplement line or medication interventions.

Bryan Johnson and the Birth of the Blueprint Religion

Sometimes a story goes hard

During my fact-checking process for an upcoming magazine feature on him, Bryan Johnson had some concerns. They centered on his nighttime erections.

I’d spent years following and reporting on Johnson’s exploits in the brain computer interface and health fields. On this occasion in January 2023, though, my focus had zeroed in on Johnson’s Blueprint program. This consisted of him pursuing an ultra-healthy lifestyle and measuring his body and its biomarkers on an unprecedented level. As far as I could tell, Johnson was spending more on his body and health than any other human and was doing something quite original among health gurus by putting actual metrics behind his program and progress.

Through my reporting, Johnson and I had gotten to know each other well. He’d been very open about his past attempts to deal with depression and suicidal thoughts through a variety of measures. These included but were not limited to ketamine sessions, shaman-guided drug journeys in Mexico and snorting stem cells. When it came to Blueprint, though, Johnson had some reservations about what he wanted to share. How much the program cost him each year, for example, and some of the particulars around what he did to his body.

Bryan walks out of a podcast citing poor air quality. He claimed the air was giving him a rash.

According to the article, it seems the air in India is equivalent to second hand smoke from 3-4 cigarettes. Just imagine if you had to live in that?

That’s pretty strange. Why is his body so reactive to presumably rather minor air quality changes? Would the healthiest man alive really have a rash from temporarily entering an environment with worse air quality?

It must have been pretty bad. I say that because he was a great sport and stayed for the Bill Maher interview while Bill was smoking pot. I was impressed with how graciously he handled Bill’s rudeness. (It was obvious he would have preferred not to inhale his smoke)

Does it mean that his protocol is good only for living in an artificial environment he created for himself? What about surviving in the real world with its pesticides, air pollution, not filtered water and without 100 pills a day? How long would he last? Just curious.

I would absolutely take zinc and charcoal pills with me if I ever went to India.

Good idea, but most likely not enough. A wide spectrum antibiotic is what I would be packing.
